It is a free open- source disk encryption software for Windows Vista/XP/2000 and Linux. It can create virtual encrypted disks, can encrypt entire hard disk partition or a device, such as USB Flash drive.
CryptoExpert
uses powerful encryption algorithm to encrypt the data: CAST 128 bit.
It creates encrypted virtual disks.
The data stored on a CryptoExpert disk is stored in the container file up to 20 Megabytes in size. A container is a file,
so it is possible to backup a container, move or copy it to
another place.
It requires password authentication before the files become accessible. Works with all Windows application - even DOS applications
Easy to use software that secures your files and e-mails with strong encryption and digital signature. Features include: integrated with Windows shell; creating own X.509 digital certificates; securing files and folders; securing e-mails, verifying digital signatures; wiping files and folders; wiping disk free space. Supports many e-mail clients including Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Outlook Express, Yahoo Mail, Hotmail, Gmail, Juno Mail, Lycos Mail, Eudora Webmail, email.com, Brinkster WebMail, etc. Supports Text, RTF and HTML e-mails.
This is a very tiny but powerful encryption program.
The real advantage of fSekrit is that notes are truly self-contained; the editor program and your note are merged together into a tiny self-contained program file, removing the need to install a special application to view your data.
Another advantage of using fSekrit is that
your un-encrypted data is never stored on your harddisk. With a
traditional encryption utility you would have to decrypt your file to
disk, view or edit it, and then re-encrypt it, and unless you use secure
file wiping tools, it would be a trivial matter for someone to to
retrieve your un-encrypted data, even though you have deleted it. This
can't be done with fSekrit, though, since it never stores your
un-encrypted data on disk.
fSekrit uses very strong encryption (256-bit AES/Rijndael in CBC mode)
to ensure that your data is never at risk.
